10 WWE Developmental Champions Who Came To Nothing

3. Jay Bradley

Jay Bradley, or Ryan Braddock as he was known on SmackDown, won a whole heap of titles at developmental level. He was a three-time Deep South Wrestling Champion as well as a two-time OVW Heavyweight Champion, although the second of those came just after OVW and WWE parted ways. His dominance of Deep South was particularly impressive, with Bradley responsible for three of the nine reigns whilst the agreement between DSW and WWE was in place.

Still, his time on SmackDown was largely forgettable. As far as I can remember Braddock won only one match, beating Festus (Luke Gallows) by disqualification after Festus and tag partner Jesse wrapped him up in bubble wrap. Not really a victory then, unfortunately.

Bradley is a great example of the type of pro-wrestler who would be dominant at lower levels, but just didn't seem to have that intangible X-factor to make the step up. Admittedly, he wasn't given a chance to, given a CAW name and image that pretty much guaranteed a lack of fan interest.

Bradley eventually resurfaced in TNA as Aiden O'Shea, an Irish ruffian, and showed some promise before leaving the company at the end of last year.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
