10 WWE Entrance Themes That Were Originally For Someone Else

3. CM Punk's 'This Fire Burns' (Randy Orton)

Packed full of heavy metal attitude and bursting at the seams with a youthful vigour that fit CM Punk perfectly, 'This Fire Burns' was actually penned by Killswitch Engage for another top WWE star before the straight-edge star was even on the main roster.

Months before Punk made his debut as part of the revamped ECW show, Randy Orton used the song at the start of the year during a feud with Rey Mysterio. This was a replacement for Orton's previous 'Burn In My Light' song performed by Mercy Drive.

Either WWE officials didn't think the track was a good fit for Orton or the heel himself wasn't a fan, because Randy quickly went back to his prior theme after just a few appearances backed by music that would become huge for CM Punk's explosion onto the main roster.

Once Orton was suspended for unprofessional conduct in early-April, 2006, those in charge decided to hand the song off to Punk.
