10 WWE Feuds That Spanned Multiple Pay-Per-Views

8. Triple H Vs Goldberg (2003)

The internet in 2003 was an angry angry place if you were a wrestling fan, and it was all Triple H's fault.

An enemy of the state, 'The Game' was blamed for the general downturn of the product, and an endless trail of midcarders that lay under his domineering boot as Raw's World Champion.

But as evidenced then, now and forever, Bill Goldberg is no midcarder.

Locking eyes for the first time at Summerlslam, Goldberg and Triple H's Pay-Per-View history should probably have actually totalled about three minutes.

Having ploughed through Raw's top stars, Goldberg only had Hunter to gobble up as he claimed his first WWE World Title in the Elimination Chamber.

It wasn't to be. The very very injured Triple H bopped Big Bill with his hammer and scored the win, setting up for the supposedly bigger climax one month later.

But the air was out of the balloon. Goldberg would beat Triple H clean In the singles scrap at Unforgiven, and again at November's Survivor Series, but after fans saw Plan A fail at Summerslam, they simply weren't buying any of Plan B.

Fittingly for such a botched rivalry, Goldberg would drop the belt back to Triple H at Armageddon in December (in a contest further diluted by Kane), as Goldberg lost the feud, the title, and his interest in WWE altogether.
