10 WWE Heels Who Were Actually Babyfaces In Disguise

Chris Jericho is one of the most effective heels of all-time, and his 2008 feud with Shawn Michaels is an absolute classic. The work put forth in this storyline compares favourably with anything either man has done in their respective careers, but if it has one fault, it’s Jericho’s screwy alignment.

A continuation of their all-too-brief 2003 spat, Jericho and HBK reignited their feud when Shawn appeared to injure his knee while wrestling Batista. Jericho was special referee that night, and accused Shawn of faking it at first, before Michaels convinced him that the injury was genuine.

Jericho was aghast, and went as far as issuing a heartfelt public apology to a man he called his boyhood hero. A classy, respectful move from Jericho, but things soon went down the pan. Michaels later admitted he’d faked the injury, playing Y2J like a fool, then superkicked him to prove it.

A devious twist from HBK, and it got worse. Michaels took a number of cheapshots and cheated throughout their Judgment Day match, but Jericho, the victim, was booed throughout. Jericho eventually put Michaels on blast for his transgressions, and went full heel on the guy by low-blowing him during an episode of the Highlight Reel. A sour move from Jericho, but it was hard to fault him after the way Michaels had treated him.
