When Matt was rehired to settle the matter in the ring, Edge beat Hardy, bloodying him in the process, and denying fans the vengeance they craved. Justice was dragged even further through the mud when Edge beat Hardy in a "Loser Leaves RAW" match. Fans who wanted Edge to finally face the consequences of his actions were denied, and even worse, Edge became champion soon after.
