8. Daniel Bryan & Roman Reigns Vs. Erick Rowan & Luke Harper

Ahead of the contest itself, a duel with an eleventh hour stipulation change was feed for the fantasy bookers rather than imaginary agents. As Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan's tornado tag with former Bludgeon Brothers Erick Rowan and Luke Harper progressed, it became clear that the story was always going to be within the match rather than either side of it.

Was Bryan going to turn on his partner to reveal a convoluted ruse? Was Roman Reigns going to be the one to leave his strange bedfellow in the lurch? Neither - it was simply a blistering advert for the the former SmackDown Tag Champions' attempts to isolate and destroy two of the biggest stars on the show.

Believably brutal, the four smashed each other to bits in a series of increasingly dangerous spots, predictably outperforming the shoddy storyline that had brought them to this point. A storyline symbolically shattered when Rowan snapped a pencil in half on the floor - no writers were needed nor welcome in this destruction derby.

A combo of finishers from the babyfaces put Luke Harper away, with the victors hugging to confirm (for now, at least) their positions in the aftermath of their shared summer.
