Steve Austin vs Vince McMahon is the rivalry that not only saved the World Wrestling Federation, it put them back on top in the ratings and led to an almost complete monopoly of the wrestling industry.

It was a rivalry that spoke to millions of everyday people around the world, as everyone can relate to wanting to punch their boss in the face, and they could live vicariously through Stone Cold every week on Raw Is War.

The final match that saw Austin and McMahon as opponents was the famous "who raised the briefcase" ladder match at the 1999 King of the Ring, where Austin took on both Vince and his son Shane.

That's hardly the most satisfying conclusion to the rivalry that changed the course of professional wrestling and decided the victor in one of the fiercest industry battles of the 1990s.

A Hell in a Cell match would have tapped in to that common man's fantasy angle incredibly well, and seeing Vince McMahon at the mercy of Austin inside the Cell while the Corporation try to get in seems like a no-brainer.

Heading into the 2000s, Austin and McMahons on-screen relationship morphed multiple times, and the initial fire of that original feud seemed unrecoverable, but a Hell in a Cell match at the height of their rivalry could have been a huge money draw.
