10 WWE Injuries That Came At The WORST Time
8. Tegan Nox Had The Worst Luck
It's impossible to look back on Tegan Nox's WWE career without wincing in empathy.
Tegan's first bite from the injury bug came around the time of the 2017 Mae Young Classic, as the Welsh superstar had to pull out from the tournament due to a torn ACL. While devastating at the time, this gave her the perfect role to play in the following year's tournament - that of the plucky underdog looking for redemption. With a groundswell of fan support, Tegan went all the way to the quarter finals where she wrestled against future megastar Rhea Ripley. Unfortunately, the match resulted in the monstrously unfortunate wrestler suffering enough injuries to fill an entire roster. By the bout's end, Tegan had a dislocated kneecap, torn MCL, torn LCL, torn ACL, torn menisci, bone contusions and a tibia fracture.
Far from being Tegan's redemption story, the 2018 Mae Young Classic was another brutal hammer blow to her dream as a wrestler. Yet even this didn't thwart her, as she returned hale and hearty the next year and enjoyed a productive year in NXT... only to suffer another ACL tear in 2020.
This third injury unfortunately proved to be one too many for Tegan to overcome, although not for the reason you may think. Tegan's body held up well enough, but her lack of real push - combined with constant mentions of her injury history from the commentary team - made it clear WWE had no intention of seriously pushing someone with her injury history, and the company ultimately released in 2023.
