10 WWE Injuries That Came At The WORST Time
9. Rick Boogs' WrestleMania Nightmare
While missing out on WrestleMania due to injury is heartbreaking, getting injured on the actual show must be the kind of scenario that causes wrestlers to wake up in a cold sweat. Sadly, it was this exact nightmare Rick Boogs found himself living through when he tore his quad on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
After electrifying audiences in NXT with his unabashed heavy metal energy, Rick Boogs looked set to enjoy a fruitful career as a dependable prelim crowd-pleaser. Unfortunately, Boogs' wrestling career came to a crashing halt when the fan-favourite headbanger had the misfortune of tearing his quad at WrestleMania 38. Despite returning to the ring in January the following year, it soon became clear that Boogs' woefully timed injury had caused WWE management to sour on him. Boogs did nothing of note for the remainder of his time in WWE, and he was ultimately let go only eight months after his less-than-triumphant return.
Hopefully the man's upcoming run on the American Gladiators reboot is less cursed, and audiences can once again enjoy the heavy metal energy Boogs never got the chance to truly unleash in WWE.
