10 WWE Injuries That Came At The WORST Time

4. Kevin Nash's Quad Tear Kills The NWO

The nWo's ill-fated tenure in WWE was blighted by the twin tyrants that slay any wrestling storyline - bad booking and bad luck.

The bad booking was there from the start, as the famously anti-establishment faction were forced to declare their love for the WWE in their opening promo before being humiliated by the company's biggest names in various backstage segments (if you watched wrestling at the time, you're now thinking of The Rock mockingly blowing an imaginary truck horn in Kevin "Diesel" Nash's face).

As for the bad luck? Well, you can see that in the .gif adorning this page.

Realising that the nWo were floundering, the WWE brain trust decided to rush Kevin Nash back from injury to compete in a ten-man tag match on RAW. Unfortunately, the group's resident muscle was nowhere near match-ready, resulting in the tragicomic scene shown above.

The irony here is that Nash's injury occurred just as the WWE were beginning to strengthen the struggling faction. Shawn Michaels had recently been revealed as the group's newest member, instantly revitalising the Order and breathing much-needed life into an increasingly stale act. Indeed, Michaels was the one who gave what turned out to be the group's final promo - a bathetic rant about the nWo being the future of the WWE, delivered while figurehead Kevin Nash writhed in pain on the mat.

Michaels' strong words fooled no-one. The group were disbanded for good the following week, as arguably the most influential faction in wrestling history fizzled out as just another WCW-to-WWE cock-up.
