10 WWE Injuries That Came At The WORST Time

2. Liv Morgan's Freak Injury Derails Four Stories At Once

What a difference having an actual character makes.

Before her reinvention as a conniving femme fatale in 2024, Liv Morgan laboured under some of the most one-note gimmicks the company had ever produced. Who could forget her classic NXT run as "Someone From New Jersey", or her role in the Riott Squad as "The One Who Chews Bubblegum"? Thankfully, Liv's character reinvention and feud with Rhea Ripley in 2024 gave her an actual personality to project and, to her eternal credit, she ran with the opportunity. One year of excellent matches and character work later, Liv Morgan was the linchpin of the RAW woman's division.

Which made it all the more unfortunate when got injured during a match against Kairi Sane.

There can be no greater example of Liv's importance to the WWE than taking count of the storylines that were disrupted by her absence. Her feud against IYO? Gone. Her expected Premium Live Event match against Nikki Bella? Up in smoke. Her role as Women's Tag Champion? Suspended. Her lingering issues with Roxanne Perez? Put on hold. That's four storylines that were sent into disarray when Liv Morgan's shoulder got dislocated taking a routine bump.

While WWE has done as well as can be expected reshuffling the deck, there's no doubt that Liv's freak injury highlighted just how important she's become to WWE (and who thought that would be the case of someone who once had to work under the gimmick of "Light S&M Enthusiast"?)
