10 WWE Jobbers Who Became World Champion

7. Alexa Bliss

By her own admission, Alexa Bliss was an odd one out in NXT's industry-changing women's division. Others, like Sasha Banks, Bayley and Charlotte Flair, earned huge plaudits for putting on stunning matches that'd soon grace the main roster. Meanwhile, poor Alexa was stuck working a crummy cheerleader gimmick and didn't honestly believe she'd ever be a success story on Raw or SmackDown.

Oh ye of little faith, Alexa! In late-2016, WWE called Bliss up from developmental and strapped a rocket to her back. By December, she'd beaten Becky Lynch to become just the second SmackDown Women's Champion. Then, 'Little Miss Bliss' would go on to enjoy further championship toasts by winning another SmackDown belt, three Raw Women's Titles, three Women's Tag-Team Titles and even 2018's Money In The Bank briefcase.

Alexa legit didn't see any of that in her future when she was blowing sparkles out into the audience down in NXT. A quick look at her win/loss record says that WWE changed their minds on Bliss pretty swiftly too - she was a perennial loser on NXT house shows and TV. Even when Alexa did get bigger matches, like her scraps vying for the NXT Women's Title, she was never seriously in contention to win the thing.

The main roster call up changed everything. Suddenly, WWE management liked what they were seeing from Alexa and she was a glorified enhancement worker no more. Her work on the bigger shows might qualify Bliss for a Hall Of Fame slot someday too. That's how important she was the core product between 2016-2021(ish), and probably will be once she returns to action again.
