His performances with the company made it made it clear that his career was going to go as far as he wanted it to, even setting an erstwhile record run as world champion - but this didn’t keep him from tapping to the Olympic champion. The two locked horns multiple times over their time with the promotion, the bookers unsurprisingly wanting to get their money’s worth out of such talent. This is one of their higher profile pay per view clashes. Kurt Angle later described Styles as the best wrestler in the business, and you can see why - they gel brilliantly.
