10 WWE Legends Who Tapped Out To Kurt Angle

2. Hulk Hogan - King Of The Ring 2002

The Hulkster returned to WWE in his nWo heel persona, but 10 seconds of his WrestleMania bout with The Rock made it clear that wasn’t going to stick. He was quickly reverted back to the red and yellow superhero of old - and while heel Hogan might tap, babyface Hogan most certainly doesn’t - unless he’s fighting with the Olympic champion.

Hogan carries a reputation of looking out for number one and holding younger stars back, but according to Angle, there was none of that old selfish Hulk going into this match. "I didn't think he was going to do it!” Kurt said of the spot, but when Vince McMahon laid out the finish, Hogan gladly accepted his role. By 2002, there was a strong argument to be made that Angle was the best in the biz - while it’s likely Hogan may have been reticent about putting over just anyone, there’s no shame in tapping out to someone with the ability and credentials of Kurt. Credit to Hogan, he brings it in this match, with his vintage pro wrestling style a nice contrast to Angle’s amateur acumen.

He puts up a valiant effort but taps clean - it’s a touch of class on the part of Hogan, and another legend ticked off the Olympian’s list.
