10 WWE Main Roster Wrestlers Who Were WORSE In NXT
7. Sonya Deville
In 2015, Sonya Deville debuted in WWE as a contestant on Tough Enough VI, shockingly being the third competitor eliminated. Despite her low ranking, she was still signed by the company.
Though, while in NXT until 2017, Deville did little of note other than defeating newcomers in brief weekly TV matches, her biggest success in development was meeting her real-life best friend and tag team partner Mandy Rose. The chemistry between the two allowed both to shine.
When Deville and Rose debuted on Raw (20 November 2017) they were aligned with Paige, forming Absolution. The trio quickly left their mark, taking the fight to Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James and then-Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss. Despite the initial hot run, Deville and Rose failed to capture the Women’s Tag Team Championships even though they were one of the division’s best and beloved duos.
Outside the ring, Sonya shone as a heel in the Mandy Rose/Otis relationship storyline, which was one of the best booked stories in recent memory, even if that is somewhat of a back handed compliment. Her current role as an assistant on-air authority figure has inspired further character growth. Combined with her athleticism and MMA training, this makes Deville a compelling prospect.
