Alexa Bliss debuted on NXT TV on 24 April 2014, competing in an NXT Women's Title Tournament. She beat Alicia Fox in the quarter-final, only to lose in the semi-finals to Charlotte Flair. Bliss continued to come up short in singles competition throughout 2014. Her luck changed when she teamed up with Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake, who helped her get the better of Carmella.

With her new allegiance Bliss also turned heel, abandoning her ‘glitter fairy’ gimmick, which Bliss herself dismissed as “a very unrelatable character […] basically Tinkerbell in a wrestling ring” and her “least cool moment in WWE”.

While Bliss’ star continued to rise, the team she managed stagnated in genericism. It was a wise move to split her from them. In her debut SmackDown match (9 August 2016), Bliss defeated Becky Lynch. After missing out on the chance to become SmackDown’s inaugural Women’s Champion at Backlash 2016, Bliss ended the year as the title’s second holder with a win over Lynch at TLC.

Bliss ditched the glitter but hit on main roster gold, holding the main roster Women’s Championships on five occasions and the Women’s Tag Team Championships twice. Aside from title success, Bliss is a huge part of WWE programming, has consistently kept her gimmick interesting, and is adored by the WWE Universe.
