10 WWE Midcarders Who Would Be Main Eventers In AEW
1. Shinsuke Nakamura
Has there ever been a bigger star than Shinsuke Nakamura who WWE has wasted? Sure, he won the Royal Rumble and went on to challenge for the WWE title at WrestleMania. But he lost, and his subsequent heel turn - though promising at first - fizzled out after repeated failed attempts to capture the big one.
Another star who's first language isn't English, WWE surely didn't sign 'The Rock Star' to cut ten minute promos. They signed him for his charisma, in-ring presence, and legendary status that he built for himself in NJPW. Clearly, they've forgot all of that though, as the Japanese superstar has been left to dwindle in a typical foreign heel tag team with Rusev.
'The King of Strong Style' had the crowd eating out of his hands during his days as NXT champ. He could do no wrong, and always brought a big fight feel with him to main events. Typically, as soon as he got to the main roster he was booked underwhelmingly. Even on his first appearance on SmackDown, he simply made his entrance and then did... nothing. Huh? Why not have a heel issue an open challenge, only for Shinsuke to come out to a surprise pop and totally decimate his opponent with hard hitting strikes? Of course, that wouldn't be possible as WWE has neutered his vintage in ring-style.
AEW would be a destination where Nakamura wouldn't be handcuffed in the ring and be given the respect and admiration he deserves.
