On June 11, 2007, the wrestling world was introduced to what many expected to be the latest, greatest creative blunder in the history of WWE when Vince McMahon stepped into his limo, which proceeded to blow up and kill the billionaire owner of wrestling's most storied promotion.

It was a ridiculous angle but one which spawned a whodunnit story that was slated to span the summer.

Investigators showed up in the weeks proceeding the shocking incident and WWE even staged a fake memorial for its creator, revolutionary promoter and CEO.

There was no resolution to the mystery, though. Real life tragedy forced its immediate cancellation.

No one would ever know who was responsible for the devious act but speculation suggested anyone from Mr. Kennedy to wife Linda or, perhaps, himself in a despicable attempt at garnering attention after losing the ECW Championship to Bobby Lashley, becoming mentally unhinged.

Regardless, the angle left a mark on fans, including Donald Trump, who supposedly thought the dubious stunt was real.
