10 WWE Nightmares Vince McMahon MUST Regret Booking

4. His Own On-Screen Demise

"A decision even Vince realised was stupid as soon as it happened".

The same could be said for WWE's exploding limo angle on the 11 June 2007 episode of Raw. Obviously, McMahon couldn't foresee the Chris Benoit tragedy that'd follow and render the stunt even more objectionable, but it was just a stupid move to think his character needed to go out like some Eastenders (UK-based soap opera for international readers!) villain.

Pro wrestling doesn't really do finality in storyline with any credibility, so everybody knew Vince was going to appear on screens again someday anyway. Explaining away his limousine bursting into flames would've been a challenge, but you just know WWE would've tried.

McMahon had very little in the pipeline even if the storyline had been seen all the way through. It was one of those 'we'll figure it out later, pal' booking decisions that happened on a whim/because he'd told Bruce Prichard he couldn't "be on TV if [he] was dead".
