10 WWE NXT Stars Who Have Been Down In Developmental For 5 Or More Years

7. Kona Reeves

For someone who refers to himself as 'The Finest', Kona Reeves has done very little to live up to the lofty nickname in the near-six years he'd been with WWE.

After signing a developmental deal in May 2014, Reeves went on to wrestle mostly house shows for the next two years before being sent to NXT TV as an enhancement talent. During that time, he lost countless matches to the likes of No Way Jose, Andrade and Tye Dillinger before finally being repackaged in April 2018 as 'The Finest'.

Although he scored a string of wins over a bunch of nobodies at first, he was eventually beaten by EC3 and hasn't tasted victory since. He followed in the footsteps of Kassius Ohno recently by taking his talents over to NXT UK but hasn't been as successful.

Unlike Dillinger, who was also a lifelong utility player in NXT that got his due on the main roster after several years, Reeves doesn't have nearly as many redeeming qualities aside from being skilled at taking a beating.

At least No Way Jose's addictive dancing shtick was enough to earn him a main roster call-up. Reeves, on the other hand, is doomed to flounder on the black-and-gold brand until getting the ax.
