9. What's Your Favourite Royal Rumble Elimination Ever?
I'm a great admirer of the aesthetically pleasing Rumble eliminations, Paul London's chief among them - but my favourite of all time is actually pretty unspectacular from a physical point of view.
Shawn Michaels' demise at the hands of Batista is a simple shove/punch off the apron, but the storyline implications were huge. It actually looks a little untidy, HBK scrabbling desperately at the ropes as he slips to the canvas, but the meaning behind it overshadows such imperfections.
Having clawed, scratched, and betrayed (poor Triple H) to survive in the bout and secure a WrestleMania rematch with Undertaker, Michaels' tragic elimination tips him over the edge. He seems momentarily on the verge of tears, before snapping and laying out a couple of referees.
It's fantastic.
