From @spider2097: How likely is it that WWE are going to "fast track" Samoa Joe to the main roster? Smart decision to not rename him?
There's no rush because they have so much talent on the main roster right now that it would be hard to fit him into storylines immediately. Neville just got called up a few months ago. Kevin Owens has only been there for a month. It's probably Charlotte up next for the divas. While Joe doesn't need to spend a lot of time in developmental, it's not a bad thing for him to get used to how WWE run things. Keeping Joe in NXT for a few more months will keep the NXT brand stronger because he can main event live events as well as their weekly show on a regular basis. Finn Balor will probably be the NXT Champion on July 4 when he beats Kevin Owens, but there's no guarantee that Balor will have a long reign. Perhaps Joe will take the title from him because WWE might want Balor on the main roster before the end of the year. It would be okay if Joe didn't debut on the main roster until January just because that gives people something to get excited about heading into the Royal Rumble. If it's before that then that's okay too because he's certainly worthy of a main roster spot. Yes it's a smart decision not to rename him. He's been using that Samoa Joe name as a featured performer in other companies for the past 13 years. It's a name that people may have chanted for him in a WWE ring if he was out there using some other name that WWE gave him. It's better to just keep it as a comfort thing for him as well as familiarity for the sake of the fans. Thanks for another great edition of the Q&A.
