10 WWE Records That Will Never Be Broken

For a few brief moments in 2008, it seemed as though this record could very well be broken. Santino Marella was the man in possession of the once-respected Intercontinental Championship, and every week on RAW he would come out to address the crowd and inform them on the progress of his Honk-O-Meter. His run ended at 12 weeks, which wasn't quite the record.

Well, in fact it was at least a million miles away from spot numero one. That honour, somehow, I have no idea how, sits with The Honky Tonk Man of all people. Honky, who is up there as one of the worst in-ring competitors to hold the title, carried the strap for 454 days before losing it in all of 30 seconds to Ultimate Warrior at SummerSlam '88.

In the last 10 years only one man has held the Intercontinental Championship for more than 200 days (Cody Rhodes, 236 days) and only six have been IC Champ for more than 150. I'll go into it in a little more detail throughout the feature, but long title reigns truly are anomalies these days. The Miz is at 130 days, but will he hold it for another 325? Nope.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
