10 WWE Records That Will Never Be Broken

5. Longest Time In The Royal Rumble Match - 62 Minutes

So I'm sticking my neck on the line a little here, but I feel that Rey Mysterio's 62 minutes in the Royal Rumble match in 2006 will never be beaten. People may come close, but I feel that this may be one that sticks around for a long, long time until someone realises it still stands.

Only two Royal Rumbles since Mysterio's win in 2006 have gone longer than an hour, and one of those was the 40-man Rumble won by Alberto Del Rio in 2011. Roman Reigns came close to lasting a full hour himself this year, but only one other man has done it in Rumble history and that was the man Mysterio dumped out to win his, Triple H.

Royal Rumbles are getting shorter, by and large. Only two men have lasted more than 50 minutes in the Rumble since 2010, with the aforementioned Reigns and Chris Jericho managing it this year. Rumbles are less likely to be won by the miracle man from the beginning, as that story is somewhat overplayed at this point.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
