10 WWE Rematches Absolutely Nobody Wanted To See
7. Triple H Vs. Brock Lesnar
In 2012, Brock Lesnar returned to WWE amidst feverish reactions for the former UFC Champion. Flooring John Cena with an F5 immediately after arriving and dismissively booting his saccharine green snapback into the crowd, Lesnar was immediately re-established as different gravy amongst the bland and banal ingredients that made up WWE's roster.
A feud with Triple H almost destroyed his entire aura.
It began well enough, with 'The Beast' breaking Triple H's arm after the new authority figure refused to bow to his hilarious demands. The match was set (with the two naturally positioned as equals), following a cringeworthy exchange between Stephanie McMahon and Paul Heyman on the 1000th edition of Monday Night Raw. Hunter's arm was broken again, leaving a little on the table for a completely unwanted WrestleMania rematch the following spring.
It was a completely unnecessary continuation. Triple H had commanded all the attention following his loss to Brock, but (overestimating his popularity) he was booed upon his supposedly heroic exit.
Worse was to come, as Triple H was amazingly permitted to beat Lesnar at the 'Show of Shows' in a brutally boring encounter in order to facilitate a deathly dull steel cage decider at the following month's Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
