10 WWE Rematches We Can’t Wait To See In AEW
5. PAC Vs. Chris Jericho
WWE Record:
Chris Jericho defeated Neville - The Beast In The East - 4th July 2015
Neville defeated Chris Jericho (DQ) - Raw - 14th March 2016
Chris Jericho defeated Neville - Raw - 29th August 2016
In their first encounter, Jericho and Neville were given a decent amount of time to show what they could bring. It was huge for Neville at this stage of his career to take on an industry legend, and the two delivered. The highlights included a midair Codebreaker and a Red Arrow to Liontamer counter that scored a submission.
The Raw match that followed saw Neville pick up a disqualification, but the match itself was fodder to build up Jericho and AJ Styles' feud. In the rematch five months later, Jericho again forced Neville to tap.
PAC and Neville are completely different animals. Neville was a passible highflier with a superhero gimmick always in the background threatening to engulf him. PAC is the self-proclaimed Bastard exuding aggression without flexing a muscle, proving that size isn't a necessary requirement for intimidation. At 5ft 9 in, and weighing under 200lbs, he packs more menace than most over 6ft-ers.
Jericho as the grizzled veteran, excelling at putting talent over, would be the ideal opponent to push PAC to his limits and take him to that next level.
