10 WWE Returns Fans Don’t Want (But Secretly Do)

3. Goldberg

Then, there's someone who does need the squash format.

Goldberg flirted with the idea of jumping to AEW before calling the promotion "too cheesy", and it sure seems his WWE days are over too. They are, but only for now. Money talks, and big Bill could be convinced to hit the weight room if he was served with millions of dollars and a few short, ego-boosting matches.

Winning World Titles wouldn't suit him in Triple H's WWE, and it's unlikely 'The Game' would suggest that anyway. Nah, just have Goldberg run straight over the top of some lower-card heels and get the old WCW audience feeling good about themselves by seeing him hit spears and jackhammers until diminishing returns necessitates another break.

Alternatively, line up a few lower-tier victims for Goldberg then have Bron Breakker absolutely annihilate him on TV. Scott Steiner would get a kick out of that off-camera, and it'd turn Bron into a made man if he was the one who ended Bill's career for good.

Somebody pitch it.
