10 WWE Returns That Must Happen In 2024

Bill Goldberg is still a pro wrestler in demand.

The former WWE and WCW Champion has been on good terms with Tony Khan for some time, with the AEW president previously putting over their relationship and his own positive thoughts on 'Da Man'. This makes him a cynical but rather effective scoop for the market leader should he be interested in anything down the line.

In Cody Rhodes and CM Punk, WWE have brought names back that indirectly call to question AEW's effectiveness just by the virtue of their success on the bigger stage. The reality is that neither of them would have the propulsion nor the added value aura from what they left with in 2016 and 2014 without that run. The original Big Bill hasn't yet ran the ropes for Khan, but he might not need to be subject to yet another optics war victory for the company that traditionally stunk at massaging perception.

All that said, Goldberg's best used sparingly, still. Everybody's learned enough to know that keeping it brief remains for the best.
