10 WWE Reunions That Were False Dawns

When Finn Balor erupted onto the main roster in the 2016 Draft, the WWE Universe weren't quite sure what they were getting. Those who had worshipped him through his NJPW and NXT days, however, knew big things were to be expected.

After immediately finding himself in a Universal Title programme with Seth Rollins, Bálor would tease a partnership with AJ Styles' Club (formed with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, after their time in the NJPW stable, The Bullet Club) at SummerSlam before defeating the Architect, whilst unfortunately injuring himself in the process.

Bálor would be off our screens for nearly a whole year, returning the night after WrestleMania 33.

After not doing anything of real note (let's not revisit his Sister Abigail feud), aside from his glorious bout with former Club leader AJ Styles at TLC, Bálor found himself with little direction at the end of 2017.

January 2018 rolled around and, after teasing his allegiances with the group since his main roster debut, WWE finally pulled the trigger on the aptly named Bálor Club. On the night of their official reformation of the all-conquering team from New Japan, Bálor Club defeated Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan in a six-man tag match.

Then, just like that, it was over.

Bálor would go single again and put in a great showing in the Royal Rumble before finding himself in a triple threat for the Intercontinental Title at 'Mania 34.

Years of teasing, for just a few weeks of pay-off.

Aren't you glad they waited?
