10 WWE Reunions That Were False Dawns

5. The Bludgeon Brothers (2018)

As mentioned earlier in the list, The Bludgeon Brothers, Erick Roman and Luke Harper, enjoyed a decent start to life as SmackDown's new dominant force.

After enjoying an on-again, off-again relationship with Bray Wyatt, they found themselves in vignettes on the now-christened Land of Opportunity. Provoking mild interest, the two wielded hammers and returned in November 2017, slaughtering The Hype Bros.

Interfering in the SD Tag Team Championship match between The New Day and The Usos at Fastlane put the Bludgeon Brothers in the championship conversation. By WrestleMania 34, the former Wyatt family members would be holding the gold above their head, beating the aforementioned teams in the process.

Defences against The Usos, Gallows and Anderson and Team Hell No were all successful, but the team still hadn't clicked as a genuine force to be reckoned with.

Rowan tore his bicep around SummerSlam and the Bludgeon Brothers would drop the titles to The New Day on Smackdown LIVE in a No DQ match, ending a lukewarm 135 day reign.

That would be their last appearance as The Bludgeon Brothers.

It wasn't that the two weren't a good tag team, they just weren't afforded the time or investment to shine in a meaningful feud. Here's hoping Harper's return at Clash of Champions can reignite the underlying potential in both men.
