Let’s put this on the table right away: Records from the Greatest Royal Rumble should be considered suspect because they took place in a 50-man match, but WWE has included it in its history, so we can’t ignore it. Therefore, Braun Strowman set the modern record in 2018’s eponymous match.

However, two years later, Brock Lesnar started the January Rumble and proceeded to toss 13 men (more on that later), tying Braun’s record. The difference here is that Strowman won his Rumble, while Lesnar was tossed at the midpoint.

Why won’t a two-year-old record ever be broken? It’s just simple mathematics. To break it, you’d need to account for 14 of the 29 eliminations in a 30-person Rumble. That’s just under half the field. That would be a monumental effort. Brock’s performance was unique in that he entered at #1, so he never had a crowded ring (the most he had to contend with at one time was three men). He also is a very unique performer in WWE history.

Sure, it’s possible WWE calls Bron Breakker up next year and has him heave a bunch of guys, but the idea that he could bounce 14 in a Rumble seems ludicrous… even for Vince McMahon.
