6. John Cena vs. Cesaro (Best John Cena U.S Open Challenge)
One of the more interesting categories for this year's Slammy Awards involves John Cena. For the bulk of 2015, Cena was linked with the WWE United States Title. The story was that the veteran would take on all comers, inviting various wrestlers of a supposedly lower standing to challenge him for the belt. The idea proved to be a real winner, and a cool addition to Monday Night Raw. Cena contested some real crackers against the likes of Dean Ambrose (March 30), Sami Zayn (May 4) and Neville (May 11). Later in the year, he also had a great bout against Dolph Ziggler (October 12). By far the best match nominated came against Cesaro on the July 6 episode of Raw. The 'Swiss Superman' looked like he had a real point to prove during the match. Earlier in 2015, comments from Vince McMahon on Steve Austin's podcast had clearly been a source of frustration for Cesaro. He tore out of the starting blocks against Cena, and the US Champion was only too willing to accommodate him. The resultant match was magical, and one of the best TV contests of the year. It really deserves to be highlighted.
