10 WWE Stars Already Having A Terrible 2018

3. Samoa Joe

Before going down with a nasty foot injury during a match with Rhyno on the 8 January 2018 Raw, Samoa Joe had been out of action towards the end of 2017 and needed surgery to correct issues with his knee and nose. Once those were out of the way, Joe must have been looking forward to killing it in the new year.

The foot issue will keep him out of the Royal Rumble this week, but (all going well) it shouldn't stop him from working WrestleMania 34. Still, what a rubbish start to 2018 for someone who had hoped to work his first Rumble match and nail down a permanent place towards the top of the card in WWE.

Joe is one of Raw's most adaptable stars. He can wrestle against anyone, he can talk and he doesn't look weak when losing. That's the kind of heel WWE need to help fill the three-hour show every week, so it's a bummer that he's been forced to sit at home and watch.

Post-WrestleMania, let's hope Joe gets another crack at the top titles.
