10 WWE Stars In Vince McMahon's Doghouse Right Now

7. WOKEN Matt Hardy

Doghouse is something of a stretch; Hardy, a reformed character, has conducted himself immaculately since he overcame his battle with addiction. He hasn't misbehaved, but he has created a need within the fanbase to see something created outside of WWE's walls, and that's virtually the same thing.

Vince McMahon, through the conduit of Michael Cole, expressed his intense displeasure at the thought of broadcasting the Ultimate Deletion on the 19 March 2018 RAW. He referred to it as "obnoxious", all but confirming that WOKEN Matt Hardy is no labour of love inspired by BROKEN Matt Hardy. It is begrudging tokenism designed to spite and weaken another wrestling company, and nothing more.

In Vince McMahon's world, thwacking a rolled-up newspaper against the nose of a performer manifests as (here's that word again) a token Tag Team Title reign in which one "weird" character is paired with another for the third segment of RAW.

The Ultimate Deletion was not a great launchpad into hitherto unexplored narrative possibility, but rather an instruction to do that thing you do, once, if we must, and it's back to nothingness you go.
