10 WWE Stars Who Made Bold Claims They Failed To Back Up
8. Damien Sandow Will Cash In Money In The Bank Successfully
No wrestler has had a worse 2014 than Damien Sandow (well, at least the ones still on the roster). Winning the Money in the Bank Ladder match last year, it seemed Damien was on the path to a World Heavyweight Championship reign. That's what he promised. He had the numbers backing him up as well, since only one wrestler before him had failed to cash in the briefcase successfully. Unfortunately for him the Champion was John Cena. In one of the most head scratching matches in recent memory, Sandow lost to Cena when he cashed in his briefcase. This was after Cena had returned from a serious elbow injury which in reality should have kept him sidelined for a year. Rushing back prematurely, but still medically cleared to wrestle, Cena won the WHC from Alberto Del Rio at Hell in a Cell. The next night on Raw, Cena was attacked by Sandow who targeted the legitimately injured arm, and then announced that he was cashing in his title shot. Instead of a quick finish like most cash-ins, Sandow then wrestled Cena for over fifteen minutes during which Cena showed his usual invulnerability to the pre-match assault, and defeated Sandow very convincingly. It makes one wonder why WWE even bothered giving him the briefcase in the first place. But then considering the Money in the Bank Ladder match also contained Dean Ambrose, Cesaro and Cody Rhodes, we should actually be thankful Sandow was chosen to fall to the mighty Cena.
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
