10 WWE Stars Who Made Bold Claims They Failed To Back Up
4. The Rock Is Back And He's Never Leaving Again
Now truth be told we all knew from the start that Dwayne Johnson would only be making rare appearances when he returned in 2011. We knew he had commitments in Hollywood and we understood that he would only be around for WrestleMania season. Fans were fine with that. The important thing was that he was back for the time being and they appreciated him while he was there. But when he started talking about how the WWE was his home and how he was never leaving again, it just came off as patronizing. Of course he would leave again. He was gone just one week later. Wrestlers are known for exaggerating and dare we say lying, but there are limits to what the fans are wiling to tolerate. Claiming that he would always be around when he was already looking ahead to his next movie project, actually made John Cena look better, as he mocked the Rock for his lack of commitment and his live via satellite promos.
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
