10 WWE Stars That Should Have Won The World Title Sooner

9. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns may not be the most popular entry to feature on this list, but hear me out on this one.

When Reigns won his first WWE Championship at Survivor Series 2015 and it’s safe to say that the fans weren’t altogether best impressed. The response that met his win over Ambrose was hardly overwhelming. In fact, the subsequent cash-in from Sheamus, of all people, managed to get a better reaction.

For far too long Reigns had been positioned as “the office’s next top star” and audiences were simply fed up with it. Of course, that hadn’t always been the case and there had once been a time when fans were fairly accepting of Roman Reigns.

Immediately after The Shield’s disintegration, and before the company had made it painfully obvious that they’d be pushing Roman to Jupiter, Reigns was still fairly hot. His character was yet to be micro-managed into the blubbering, manufactured babyface that the company would eventual lumber him as.

Furthermore, he was in the WWE title picture. He had shots at the gold at Money in the Bank 2014 and again a month later at Battleground, and while there may still have been a few complaints had he won the title so soon, surely it can’t have been any worse than that backlash at the Royal Rumble?

Elliott Binks hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
