10 WWE Stars That Should Have Won The World Title Sooner

After leaving the WWE in 2005, Christian moved on to TNA, where he transformed himself from a mid-card talent to a bond-fide main event star. After a pair of NWA World Heavyweight Championship wins, he'd then return to his old haunts towards the end of 2008.

And yet, it wasn’t until mid-2011 that he’d replicate that TNA success, when he finally captured the World Heavyweight Championship that had been vacated due to Edge’s retirement.

Now, I know he had reigns with the ECW Title, but really he was deserving of a proper title run, and the company should have been pushing him towards one of the more prominent championships instead.

Also, given that Christian’s history with Edge was a big part of the story behind his maiden world title victory, in some ways you could argue that had Edge been fit to remain as champion, Christian’s opportunity may well have taken even longer to arrive, if it would have arrived at all.

While he would eventually capture the big gold belt twice, it just seems a little unfair that he’d have to wait 13 years after debuting to do so. As a point of comparison, by that time his buddy Edge had amassed a dozen world title reigns. Even accounting for Christian’s hiatus, that seems a tad unjust.
