10 WWE Stars To Take Seth Rollins' Place In The Authority

5. Dean Ambrose

Since The Shield broke up, Dean Ambrose has had mixed fortunes. Despite being put into fairly high profile feuds with the likes of Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt, he came out on the losing end of both of those, and after being wasted at this year's WrestleMania when he competed for the Intercontinental Championship, he spent the majority of the summer being little more than Roman Reigns' sidekick. With Rollins gone, Ambrose taking his place as part of The Authority is something that's sure to give that long-rumoured heel turn the added oomph it's going to need if he hopes to stand out as a top star. The Lunatic Fringe has served under The Authority before, and it's not hard to imagine him doing so again if it means he finally gets the WWE World Heavyweight Championship around his waist. Ambrose betraying Reigns and joining up with The Authority brings back memories of when Stone Cold Steve Austin turned on the WWE Universe and teamed up with Triple H under the watchful eye of Vince McMahon. Ambrose selling out like Rollins before him would be a knife straight into the backs of Reigns and the fans, and it gives the product a much needed shake up as it heads into 2016. Despite his popularity right now, Ambrose was always a great heel, and a return to those ways is something he also desperately needs to keep his character fresh and to ensure he doesn't end up as the forgotten member of The Shield.
