10 WWE Stars Undertaker Succeeded In Elevating To The Next Level

2. Edge

Although Edge benefited from sharing the screen with the Undertaker during the Ministry of Darkness era, he became a fully-established main-eventer after his lengthy feud with the Undertaker almost a decade later. The rivalry between these two men spanned a full year, with both of them trading major wins and title victories. During that time, Edge shifted notably from the exclusively crafty and underhanded heel to a brutal, calculated and remorseless one. Even though Edge relied heavily on the numbers game to counteract the threat of the Undertaker, that only amplified his own star power; his ruthlessness, cleverness and overall heel demeanor really shone through, and he became such a high-level Superstar that he soon became capable of main-eventing WrestleMania and carrying SmackDown on his shoulders. When Edge main-evented WrestleMania XXIV against the Undertaker, it was a moment of vindication, as this €˜glorified tag team wrestler€™ was facing off against the conscience of WWE. During that match, Edge proved just how much he had evolved as a wrestler, and demonstrated quite clearly why he deserved to be in the main-event. Undertaker, meanwhile, sold everything that Edge did and made him look like a true threat at every opportunity. By the time their rivalry was done, it was obvious that Edge could draw as a wrestler, and that his time at the top was well-earned.
