This one is truly a shame as honestly, there's really not much that separates Alex Riley from John Cena except for opportunity and being handed the ball in a big-money situation. Being The Miz's lackey when he was WWE's #1 guy is more of a liability than a strength. If anything, CM Punk's run as a top guy proved everything that he said was flawed about The Miz as a top guy ABSOLUTELY right. Alex Riley has all of the tools but has never had the opportunity to be presented as the traditional top guy he deserves to be. Letting Riley get some ring time and opportunities upon his return from injury against top performers on the indies like Matt Hardy couldn't hurt him in the least. He's a player, just a sad case of being in the wrong place and the wrong time. An undeserved stigma is sadly still a stigma.
