Poor Chad Gable, a.k.a. 'Shorty G'. When your ring-name sounds like a junior high student's unwanted nickname, it's time to look for greener pastures.
The tragedy of WWE's decision to relabel the former Olympic athlete was that it came right after he got himself over on the main roster. Following a great run in the latest King of the Ring tournament and an entertaining mini feud with Baron Corbin, of all people, Gable's momentum was kneecapped when he was inexplicably lumbered with his current sobriquet.
Make no mistake, Chad Gable is a great professional wrestler but nobody could thrive with a name like Shorty G. (Would the Yes Movement have ever taken off if its leader called himself Shorty B?) Gable would be better suited switching back to his old name and returning to his old stomping grounds at NXT to remind the people in charge how he got himself over in the first place.
