10 WWE Stars Who Survived The Worst Booking Ever
1. Kurt Angle
In 2005, wrestling machine and all-round entertainment wizard Kurt Angle turned into a stalkery sex pest who wanted "beastiality sex" with Booker T's wife Sharmell. The Olympian even alleged to Booker that Sharmell had "fondled my private parts" when he accosted her in the couple's dressing room during a pay-per-view.
Yeah.
This storyline was not a good look for WWE, Angle or anyone else. It was the kind of tale that made fans feel awkward about showing buddies what they'd been watching, and it did nothing to sell Kurt as a heel people should take seriously. The "beastiality" bit, in particular, was all rather unnerving.
How did Angle bounce back from this? By being one of the best pro wrestlers on the planet, really. He left WWE the next year, jumped to TNA and proved all over again why he was such a cherished worker inside the ring. Matches with AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and others showed the best side of Kurt.
He didn't even have to try and shag their wives to prove his alpha male status. Win-win.
