10 WWE Stars Who Teased Leaving In A Big Way

Kofi Kingston was forced to overcome a wretched amount of obstacles on his road to WrestleMania 35.

Vince McMahon was making his life a misery and every time he looked to be closing in on that sacred 'Mania main event against Daniel Bryan for the WWE title, he had his hopes dashed by whatever sh*thousery was on the agenda that week.

Yet, it seemed as though Kingston's screwing out of the aforementioned match, thanks to McMahon deciding to throw the Planet's Champion at him after a gruelling gauntlet match on SmackDown Live in March 2019, was the last straw for The New Day.

Taking to social media in the aftermath, Big E and Xavier Woods both gave video statements which teased a departure from a company they felt wouldn't allow 'people like them' to succeed. Woods went even further, suggesting that he had outlets outside of wrestling which he could pursue in order to keep his family fed - i.e. his gaming exploits.

Both videos were, like the roadblocks, obviously a work. However, they did succeed in tricking a few people and added another compelling layer to the Kofi vs. WWE storyline. This was eventually all paid off with one of the greatest moments in 'Mania history when Kingston won the title on the Grandest Stage. This big tease definitely added fuel to the eventual explosion.
