10 WWE Stars Who Teased Leaving In A Big Way

You can't talk about WWE's biggest teasers of an impending departure without the star who made it cool.

We're talking of course about the serial UFC flirter himself, Brock Lesnar.

You could probably fill out multiple entries on this list with Lesnar's various tactical glances over to other workplaces. However, the one we're going to focus on here happened in August 2017 and involved a typically glorious piece of promo work from Paul Heyman on Monday Night Raw.

Amidst the constant speculation surrounding 'The Beast Incarnate's future, news had broken online that the former UFC Heavyweight champ had re-entered the USADA testing pool. This meant that when his contract was up with WWE (just after WrestleMania 34) he would have served a large chunk of the suspension handed to him after testing positive at UFC 200 and he would therefore be in a better position to re-establish himself inside of the world of MMA.

So Heyman - ever the opportunist - decreed that if Lesnar lost the Universal title at SummerSlam (after having the odds stacked against him with a fatal four-way stipulation) he would leave WWE. This seemed to sync up with the rumours of Lesnar's apparent decision to step back inside of the Octagon.

Yet, Lesnar wouldn't lose his belt and the entire thing turned out to be yet another way of squeezing even more money out of Vince McMahon. He'd re-sign after 'Mania 34 and is still collecting big cheques for little work today.
