10 WWE Stars Who Teased Leaving In A Big Way
3. Daniel Bryan
Oh, how different things could have been...
In March 2017, when Daniel Bryan was in the thick of his tenure as SmackDown Live's General Manager and co-hosting Talking Smack with Renee Young, he found himself embroiled in a verbal boxing match with The Miz on that very same post-SmackDown riot.
The pair had obviously thrown down barbs a few months earlier in an iconic exchange on Talking Smack. Yet, this time around - instead of just claiming WWE wouldn't allow him to wrestle - Bryan went that little bit further.
After Miz had reminded Bryan that he couldn't wrestle because of his 'head', Bryan questioned Miz by asking 'I can't or they won't let me?' He then followed that up with 'we'll see in a year and a half, we'll see what happens.'
At that time, fans went into overdrive and were fantasy booking exactly who 'The American Dragon' could face on the indies if he were to wiggle free from the WWE net at the end of his contract.
Remarkably, he would eventually convince enough doctors to medically clear him for an in-ring return that WWE felt comfortable enough to allow him to return as a physical performer, a year after this huge tease hit our screens.
