Also among the call-ups from NXT in the 2016 WWE Draft were American Alpha, who were selected by SmackDown's Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon. Jason Jordan and Chad Gable joined forces in NXT a mere year ago yet have already emerged as one of the hottest acts in all of wrestling right now.

Their NXT Tag Team Championship win at TakeOver: Dallas in April was a magical moment, and although their reign was short-lived, it immediately became apparent that the titles were taken off them so soon because they were main roster bound. As it turned out, that was what happened and now they are headed to SmackDown to shake up the tag team scene on Tuesday nights.

American Alpha coming up alone is awesome, but SmackDown certainly seems to fit them best. Since the start, they have constantly been compared to Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, collectively known as The World's Greatest Tag Team, and they made quite the name for themselves on the blue brand back in the day.

American Alpha are ready (willing, and Gable) to follow in their footsteps.
