1. Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn's WWE contract was reportedly extended due to his 2020 sabbatical, but it's still set to expire in late-2021. The 36 year old is strong-willed, and he may believe the time is right to test himself elsewhere and glean a little more creative satisfaction in AEW or another promotion like it.

In fairness, Sami's recent Intercontinental Title reign was a riot, and he was visibly having fun as a delusional jerk who always had an answer for everything. Now, after dropping the title to Big E, the belt-less heel has options. He can take advantage of emerging competition to negotiate more money with WWE or work on his own terms.

Who wouldn't like to see what Zayn could accomplish in AEW or back in ROH?

He's one of the best heel talkers in wrestling today, can work with all shapes and sizes and commands respect outside WWE after years of hard graft as El Generico. Zayn will make things work in WWE if he stays, but there's something so intriguing about seeing him jump to AEW.
