The Undertaker's 'Casket' stip might hold the record for most duff matches; 19 have been sprinkled throughout WWE history, and yet they're rarely been anything other than huge disappointments. Hell, even the gimmick's video game intro in SmackDown 2: Know Your Role was a massive letdown.

Then, Shawn Michaels came along.

It might've been the night that caused HBK to take a four-year sabbatical from the ring after doing his back in, but the 1998 Royal Rumble's headliner was special regardless. It was the first time that the coffin-based gimmick had actually been framed by a solid match. That's something 'Taker had never managed before.

Clashes with Kamala, Yokozuna, Kama, Goldust and Mabel had all been stinkers. Post-Michaels, those problems would resume. Nobody, including The Rock, Kane, Mark Henry, Big Show, Randy Orton or Rusev, managed to get as much out of the idea as Shawn did.
