10 WWE SummerSlam 2020 Impulse Reactions

1. THE BIG DOG

Roman Reigns is back, and just for a split second it felt like the normal world was too.

This wasn't just 'The Big Dog' viciously cutting through the new Universal Champion before he'd even had a chance to celebrate, of the former one as he tried to pick himself up on the floor. Those Spears ripped apart the worst moments of this worst f*cking year - the same year that forced Roman Reigns to take a long break for the good of himself and his family, and has now seemingly relented just enough for him to justify returning.

It was truly exhilarating up to the point where Reigns spoke to the supernatural guy about not being able to handle the responsibility of being Universal Champion because everything's an admin job in WWE at the end of the day. This isn't the article to attack that for now though, not least in the euphoric wake of his glorious return.

It's impossible to know if that was a heel turn or babyface comeback or what, and for approximately 24 hours impossible to truly care. Reigns dwarfed the stature of literally every WWE wrestler we've been watching since WrestleMania a split second after he appeared in the flash of that first attack. For a company that is no longer set up to make stars, the value of a proper one was yet again abundantly clear.
